Reiki is a word used to represent a healing technique discovered and developed by Mikao Usui  in Japan in the 1800's. Hawayo Takata is credited with bringing this healing art to the western world. Reiki is a healing technique promoting relaxation, stress reduction and healing.

The most accepted definition in the west is 'Universal Life Force' or 'Spiritually Guided Life Force'

KI is life energy. This non-physical energy animates all living beings; when life energy is low we are vulnerable to disease. KI is also the primary energy for our emotions, thoughts and spiritual lives. This makes not only humans, but worlds function. The flow of energy is blocked  by worries, fears, anger etc. and reduces the flow of energy.

With Reiki, the practitioner channels the healing energy (acting as the straw) through their hands to the client which activates the natural healing process promoting a sense of peace,  physical and emotional well-being. Reiki re-aligns one with one's true path, source and spirit.

REIKI WORKSHOPS

The system of Reiki is generally taught in 3 levels; Reiki being passed from a Reiki Master/Teacher to a student via and initiation ceremony called an attunement.

Reiki I focuses on self treatment or treatment on another in close proximity. 

Reiki II  focuses on treatment for others and providing distant Reiki.

The third level is the Master/Teacher level; this focuses on training and passing attunements to new students and practitioners. 

Spirit of the Owl offers Reiki I and Reiki II workshops.

Who can learn Reiki? Anyone and everyone! Join us for a workshop if you feel called to this healing energy, are embarking on a physical, spiritual or emotional healing journey, or are a healer seeking a compliment to your established modality. All are welcome!

REIKI LEVEL I

During this workshop you will learn the origin and history of the Usui Reiki healing system. You will receive an overview of the chakra and endocrine systems and receive the First Degree Reiki Attunement. While Usui Sensei did not use or teach the chakra system, it is a helpful tool for our western minds to help learn how energy impacts our physical body. You will also practice exercises to help you increase your intuition and sensitivity to energy.

REIKI II 

This workshop is designed for those who wish to continue their Reiki journey and increase their vibrational energy. You will receive the Reiki Second Degree Attunement, practice distant healing,  understand and use Reiki II symbols and practice energy sensing techniques.
